On the 6 th , 7 th and 8 th of November of 2019 in Bogotá, the Convention Center and Room 610 at building 4 of the Catholic University of Colombia, will be scenario of the International Congress Conflict, Power and Justice in the Global South. 100
criminologists, jurists, social science professionals, academics, social actors, students and university professors interested on the innovation, critic, democratization and building knowledge based on the singularities of the Global South, will come together to further build on criminological thought and topics of the event.
The idea emerged from the International Congress on Southern Criminology, which took place in November 2018 at the National University of the Litoral (Argentina). The Congress will be conducted jointly between them and the Queensland University of Technology (Australia), the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), the Catholic University
of Colombia, the University of Essex (United Kingdom), the University of Northumbria (United Kingdom) and the University of Oslo (Norway).
Attendance is limited to a 100 participants who are going to be selected based on the proposals received through an Abstract of 250 words maximum, to be sent until July 31 st 2019 to the email justice@qut.edu.au. Alternatively, the Abstract (Resumen) could be sent in Spanish to the email: d.r.goyes@jus.uio.no.
Working methodology will combine the presentation of papers in discussion groups following the discussion or workshop methodology, as well as conferences led by Keynote speakers who will elaborate on the theory and methodological foundations of the Criminology of the Global South project. Selected articles will be published in special editions of the Critical Criminology journal, or in the Novum Jus journal.
Official languages of the event are Spanish and English and simultaneous translation will be available. International Keynote Speakers
